Welcome to my free NFL picks, Wild Card Weekend edition! I'll be taking a look at all of the games in the first round of the NFL playoffs and analyzing them against the spread and straight up to see who will be moving past the Wild Card playoffs round and into next week's Divisional Round matches. Free NFL Picks Wild Card Weekend

Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals - Falcons favored by 2

On one hand, the Cardinals have really been sliding after winning their division, whereas the Atlanta Falcons have stayed hot through the end of the season and had to survive a much tougher NFC South. On the other hand, the Cardinals crowd is sure to be fired up for an extremely rare home playoff game, and Kurt Warner won't be feeling any pressure in that kind of atmosphere. The thing is, I don't think Matt Ryan will feel any pressure either, and he'll lead the improbable Falcons past the slumping Cardinals. Falcons on the road and beating the spread.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Minnesota Vikings - Eagles favored by 3

This game doesn't seem too difficult to pick for me. The Vikings are a talented team, but on offense they are one dimensional. That one dimension - Adrian Peterson - is phenomenal, but I think the Eagles defense will be able to limit his success by loading up the line and tackling soundly. But the Vikings won't be able to contain both Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb. Eagles on the road, and I'll take them to beat the spread too.

Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins - Ravens favored by 3

Baltimore went into Miami in the beginning of the season and got a victory against the Dolphins. Of course, this is a different situation, with the teams performing and evolving and the home atmosphere of a playoff game on the side of the Dolphins. The bad news for them is that I think the major difference since they played is that the Ravens have improved significantly in their execution and offensive reliability, making them even more dangerous. And I can guarantee that Ray Lewis & Co. will not let themselves be embarrassed in the playoffs by the Wild Cat. Ravens make it three straight free NFL picks to win on the road. It will be a close game, but I think they'll manage to beat the spread.

Indianapolis Colts @ San Diego Chargers - Colts favored by 1

This is definitely the best game of the Wild Card Weekend NFL playoff match-ups. These two teams know each other well, and it seems like the Chargers always find a way to pull off a win against the Colts. However, and despite their late hot streak to make it into the playoffs, the Colts have been even hotter and Peyton Manning is playing absolutely great football, some of the best of his career. LaDainian Tomlinson might be a bit banged up, and the Colts defense has stepped up their performance in the last quarter of the season as well. The Colts take care of some of their demons and beat the Chargers on the road.

Wow, with all four of my free NFL picks for the Wild Card Weekend NFL playoffs games, I picked the road team to win. I think that's due to the fact that this season in the NFL there were some rather weak divisions while some other divisions were stacked with competitive teams. The Wild Card teams who are forced to play on the road I think are therefore better than some  of the winners of those weak divisions.
