NFL Power Rankings Going into Week 7
What just happened in week 6 of the NFL season? What happened was more of the same, meaning lots of teams came back down to Earth while many others starting storming back towards the stratosphere. It means that there is no clear frontrunner to win the Super Bowl this season.
Instead, there are a ton of teams in the middle of the pack, and getting a playoff spot should prove to be quite difficult once the end of the 2008 NFL season approaches. With all of that said, it's time to look at the power rankings going to week 7. Compared to the power rankings of last week, things have gotten changed up... a lot!
The Giants, number one in last week's power rankings, got leveled last night by Cleveland. Dallas lost another game and the Redskins gave the Rams their first win. Indianapolis saved their season while exposing Baltimore and San Diego seems to have righted their ship as well. Looks like the AFC is taking back its spot as the best conference and the NFC East collectively suffered a let down. Let's see how the power rankings play out this week:
NFL Power Rankings Going into Week 7
- Tennessee Titans - Only undefeated team left.
- Pittsburgh Steelers - Both these top teams had a Bye week, and for Pittsburgh, hopefully it makes them more healthy from here on out.
- Indianapolis Colts - Absolutely took it to the Ravens. Guess I was wrong on that one!
- Buffalo Bills - Another AFC team benefiting from a Bye week, stil 4-1.
- Jacksonville Jaguars - They're back at .500 and picked up a good win against the Broncos.
- New York Giants - One loss doesn't destroy a season, but New York needs to regroup, big time.
- San Diego Chargers - Beating their hated rival, even without Tom Brady, should be a boost
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers - This team continues its up and down season, but they have a solid base.
- Dallas Cowboys - Maybe the Tony Romo injury won't be so bad after all.
- Philadelphia Eagles - A win is a win, and the Eagles needed that one.
A few weeks ago you could have argued that the top 4 teams in the entire NFL were in the NFC. Now in my power rankings for week 7, I have the AFC in the top 5 spots. Wow.
