Free Week 8 NFL Picks
Boy, the NFL sure has been a bit unpredictable this season, which makes it hard to send out my list of free NFL picks for week 8. I don't know which teams I'm a big fan of, because just about all of them have suffered at least one major setback in the 2008 NFL season so far. As soon as I think one team is going to step up and dominate, they get blown out. I picked a lot of upsets last week, and had modest success. Let's delve into the free nfl picks for week 8 and see what I can come up with.
Arizona Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers - Panthers favored by 4.5
I really like the Panthers to get this victory and cover the point spread. I think the Cardinals are in for a rude awakening when they face this focused Panthers team at home. Now, the Cardinals are no joke and normally I would consider taking them against the points in my weekly free NFL picks here. But I expect the Panthers to come out and shut them down and make a statement in that crazy NFC South division. Panthers at home and beating the spread.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys - Even
How far have the Dallas Cowboys slid? Far enough that against a team with a similar record, and playing at home, they are even on the betting spread. So, which team do I like better right now? The Buccaneers are clearly playing better football. I do expect the Cowboys to come out with a much better showing this week. But, I think the Buccaneers are serious contenders to come out of the NFC, while the Cowboys are right now, a group of unmatched talent. Buccaneers on the road.
New York Giants @ Pittsburgh Steelers - Steelers favored by 2.5
What a match! Two 5-1 teams squaring off against each other. The defending Super Bowl Champions on the road against one of the best teams in the league. Where to begin for this one? I think it hurt the Giants' pride when they put on that awful performance against the Browns on the road. But you can be sure the Steelers aren't going to lie down and give them a win in Pittsburgh. The difference may be in who the healthiest team is. I expect a really great game, but I think the Steelers defense will make a few more big plays than the Giants defense, and the Steelers get the W.
Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans - Titans favored by 4
The undefeated, 6-0 Tennessee Titans, against the struggling Indianapolis Colts. The offensive line has been hurt, Joseph Addai has been hurt, Marvin Harrison has been hurt, Peyton Manning has been hurt, Bob Sanders... geez, we get the point! But the Colts desperately need a win if they want any chance at a playoff spot. And the Titans, maybe a little bit over confident against a divisin foe? I'm picking the upset here and taking the Colts! You can't just pick favorites and give out free NFL picks like you're doing somebody a favor.
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins - Bills favored by 1.5
I really like this Bills team. A lot of great defensive players. A steady and capable offense, that can run and pass the ball. Special teams playmakers that help the team out on every chance. The Dolphins aren't a bad team. But if you're worth your salt as a 5-1 squad, on top of the division, going on the road to the last place team in the divsion shouldn't be too hard. I'll take the Bills on the road in this one, as they prepare for a showdown against the Patriots coming up.
San Diego Chargers @ New Orleans Saints (In London)- Chargers favored by 3
If you would have told me both of these teams would be 3-4 entering week 8 of the NFL season, I would not have believed you. And if you had said at 3-4, they both have a chance to come back and fight for the division lead, I definitely would not have believed you. I think the Chargers will be energized by the Patriots taking it to the Broncos on Monday night. But I'm also a bit sick of being let down by the Chargers. The Saints, well they define the term "up and down team". Normally here I would make a joke about Reggie Bush being far from LaDainian Tomlinson. Only this year, Bush actually has emerged as a threat and LT has been a bit slowed. I'm taking one of the best quarterbacks in football, and the former Chargers player, Drew Brees to lead the Saints over the Chargers, in an upset.
There you go, 6 free NFL picks for week 8, use them wisely!
By the way, Bodog is where I place all of my bets on NFL football. And they are offering a 10% bonus on new signups, that's free money to bet on the NFL. Gotta love it. Click below.

Hard to argue much with your picks..I do feel the Chargers will overcome the ailing Saints minus Mr. Bush and feel the Titans really want to prove their dominance in that division and beat the Colts. However, the Colts are the more desperate team, so who knows. Currently in 2nd place out of 39 people in a football pool based on confidence points so regardless both games I will put low points on…May end up flipping a coin on the Steelers-Giants game. Ha..Good luck…
Thanks for the comment. I want to pick the Chargers, I really do. But they let me down too much. I won’t be burned again by picking for them until they show me they can win a tough game.
I think Tennessee will be in the superbowl, they are flying under the radar and I think folks are underestimating the “D”. Chargers will choke in London. Saints will overcome their last week loss and take it out on the fatiqued Chargers…they have simply lost their bolt. Chargers have gone way too many miles and I predict the subs for the overrated Reggie Bush to step up BIG. I also predict the Steelers will lay a huge egg on this game, I think they believe they are healthier, I am ready for the running game of NY to take advantage of The velvet curtain in Pittsburgh. GO PATs, Tom we miss you horribly but Matt is growing some great legs!
tennessee is NOT under the radar, what are you talkin about? they’re a good team in a bad conference who literally play no one, maybe one or two games they could lose, all year. i don’t think it’s the colts who beat them either, but they’ll lose in the playoffs once they play a team who can compete. the panthers arizona game is going to be big; i think the panthers better win if they want any respect as a contender this year. the reason i think they’ll win is ’cause i don’t think arizona respects them enough. regardless the numbers, they’re still the underdog, and in those situations they win.
Yea, I don’t think Tennessee is under the radar, but I don’t think everybody believes in them.
I do believe that they are a very, very good team. But maybe they believe it too much?
What do you guys think about SD or NO ? I hear one guy saying SD without Bush for NO. What about NYG or PITT ?
